Measuring Instructions

Basic measuring instructions are shown on each order form. The guidance below is supplementary to the guidance on the order form.

General Guidance

  • Do not measure yourself! Some measurements are impossible to take properly.
  • User should be wearing the clothes they intend to wear underneath the jumpsuit
  • Tape measure should be against the body (except where specifically specified otherwise), but not pulled tight
  • Do not add or subtract from measurements for fit - if you want a tight or loose fit, please request this (certain suit types will have a tighter or looser fit as standard)
  • Where possible, we advise ordering through one of our dealers, who are trained and experienced in taking measurements and can also advise you on option selection and show you colour samples.
  • Take measurements of both sides of your body for limb measurements (arm and leg)
  • Measure twice! This reduces the chance of error and helps us make a suit that fits properly.

Shoulders

Go between the two hard points of your shoulder with the tape straight across the points. This is usually in line with the seams of a well fitting t-shirt.

DO NOT curve the tape around the shoulders.

Arm

Measure from the hard point in the shoulder to the wrist bone. This should be taken from the same point as the shoulder measurement.

Bicep

Measure round the widest point. Relax - tense muscles make no difference to the measurement!

Forearm

Measure round the widest point. Relax - tense muscles make no difference to the measurement!

Wrist

Measure around the wrist bones.

Chest

Measure around the widest point. For men, this is often higher and just under their arms. Keep the tape level, DO NOT take a sloped measurement.

Underbust

FEMALE FIT SUITS ONLY

Measure just below the bust. Cup size can also be provided but underbust measurement is more accurate

Waist

Measure around the smallest part of the waist.

Hips

Measure around the widest part of the bum and hips. Make sure the tape stays level.

Upper Thigh

Measure around the widest part of the thigh. This is usually just below the bum cheek. Make sure pockets are empty!

Lower Thigh

Measure around the bottom of the quad muscle. This can be found by measuring 12.5cm (5") up from the kneecap and measuring around the leg at this point.

Calf

Measure around the widest point of the muscle.

Shoe Size

Ask the customer what size shoe they wear and record what measuring system is used (UK, EU, US)

Ankle

Measure around the ankle bones. This is not needed for suits with Booties.

Inseam

Hold the tape in the centre of crotch and run it down the leg to the ankle bone.

Repeat this measurement twice to ensure the tape is in the correct place. Measure down each leg and take the longer measurement. If the difference is larger than 2.5cm (1"), retake a third time.

Body

Run the tape from the centre of the crotch up the front and centre of the body to the hollow of the neck.

Repeat this measurement twice to ensure the tape is in the correct place and the customer does not have their thumb under the tape.

If the difference is larger than 2.5cm (1"), retake a third time.

Long Body

Run the tape from the hollow in the neck, under the crotch to the bone at the back of the neck.
